BHRC (Broome Horse Riders Club) BHRC is located approximately 5km from Broome Post Office on the Broome-Derby Highway. It is the only agistment available in Broome township.
BHRC offers yards and daily grazing in groups. Yards vary in size, structures, and fencing. Just depends on what is available when new horses arrive. It is requirement that all agistors are members of the club. Agistment costs are very reasonable.
The club has a rodeo arena, campdraft arena and roundyard available to all members.
Gymkhanas and clinics are organised during the winter months.

The club also is a stop over point if you are travelling with your horses and will allow use of campdraft/rodeo yards for travellers.
Broome Rural Area At present the only rural land in Broome is the 'twelve mile' area, which is approx 20kms from Broome on the Broome Highway. Five and Ten acre blocks, some with hourses etc some without. Local real estates can help out if interested.
Plenty of bush riding available from the BHRC grounds and about 30mins riding to the beach. Riding can also be done on the grounds.
Twelve mile area has plenty of bush riding and only a short drive to Coconut Well Beach area, or about 40mins drive to the racetrack and beach area.
Broome Veterinary Clinic generally has a ve able to offer assistanec for horses, though generally not a specialist. Factilities are limited and not equipped for any operations or complicated matters. Owners fo tend to become quite self-sufficient and the vet will always to their best and research when extraordinary issues happen.
There is quite a good group of experienced people who can offer advice and assistance.
For approximately eight months the weather in Broome is fabulous - cool nights and warm days. For the other four months it is pretty awful - especially for stock. The very high humidity, bugs and wet can make horse keeping a challenge.
The humidity can exasperate and bring on anhidrosis (the puffs). Quite common in the area and is seen in all breeds.
Plenty of good shade, mesh rugs, insect spray, industrial fans etc all help to make the wet season more manageable.
As Broom is in a cyclonic region owners must be prepared for extreme weather. A lot of this personal preference as to where your horse goes during a cyclone.
